For over three decades, Americans have trusted the Ford F-150 more than any other pickup on the market, which is a big reason why the Ford F-Series has been the country’s best-selling truck for more than 40 years. The 2018 Ford F-150 promises to continue that tradition with innovative technologies that make it the perfect truck for everyday driving or for doing big things on the worksite.
The Ford F-150 is available in six trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.
Powertrains and performance
The 2018 Ford F-150 offers one of the most versatile and comprehensive powertrain lineups in the entire industry with six different options available. At the base, you’ll get a new 3.3-liter V6 that puts out 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque and is standard with Auto Start/Stop technology. If you have even tougher jobs to do, the available 5.0-liter V8 delivers 395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque for whatever comes your way.
New for 2018 is the first-ever 3.0-liter Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel. With a best-in-class EPA-estimated 30 mpg on the highway, best-in-class 250 diesel horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque, and best-in-class towing and payload capacity, there is no engine on the market that does more better.
Inside, the F-150 boasts a comfortable, well-made interior. Drivers will find the controls are easy to use and easy to reach. Large knobs make it easy to adjust the climate or audio controls, even while wearing gloves.
Standard interior features on the base XL trim include a driver information display, a four-speaker radio, air conditioning, an auxiliary audio input jack, and a 4.2-inch central display screen. The optional 101A package adds SYNC® voice controls, Bluetooth® connectivity, a USB port, and a CD player.
The F-150 is available in three cab sizes: Regular, SuperCab, and SuperCrew®. There are also three bed lengths: 5 feet, 6 inches; 6 feet, 6 inches; and 8 feet. The F-150 comes standard with automatic headlights, pre-wired trailer connections, trailer sway control, and 17-inch steel wheels. At the top of top of the range with the F-150 Limited, a Stain Finish and Chrome grille, Satin Chrome door and tailgate handles, and LED lighting up the ante with even more opulence.
